El auge del perfil de los Ingenieros Docentes (que son aquellos que se forman en ingeniería pero que abrazan la Docencia como su espacio de formación y proyección profesional) ha llevado a que se deban fortalecer las dos aristas: la que corresponde al conocimiento disciplinar propio de la Ingeniería y las que permite apropiar y aplicar metodologías, teorías y modelos que se heredan de las ciencias de la educación para fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en el marco de la educación superior y dentro del contexto de formación de un programa profesional.
